Last Monday 16th May was the Science Week at Spanish School in Portobello (Canada Blanch). XTid Associates prepared a presentation about architecture and engineering in a modern dwelling. XTid started giving an introduction about the minimum requirements for the distribution of spaces in an apartment and proper location of wet rooms in a dwelling adapted to contemporary life. Following the presentation, the students of 3 ESO joined a workshop applying the concepts they have learned from the previous talk. They made groups of 2 people to arrange the spaces of a dwelling incorporating techniques and concepts explained before.
They exposed their projects to the rest of the class. There was a discussion of the students’ different points of view analysing the advantages and disadvantages of their solutions. The session was a good experience with a very interesting debate, which conclusion was that architecture had many viable ways to satisfy the same requirements.
